The Bill
Walking up to a department store's fabric counter, a pretty girl asked the clerk, "I want to buy this material for a new dress. How much does this cost?""Only a kiss a yard, " replied the smirking male clerk."That's fine," replied the girl. "I'll take ten yards."With expectation and anticipation showing all over his face, the clerk hurriedly measured out and wrapped the cloth, then held it out teasingly. The girl took the package, smiled a big smile at the clerk, and then pointed to an old man standing next to her. "Grandpa will pay the bill! Goodbye!" she laughed and walked away.

Aleph- Paulo Coelho
Just read Aleph by Paulo Coelho and as I promised Iam gonna tell you my impression about the book. Well, its a story based upon PC's experience of life. He tells us that by the time he was 22 years old he started with magic arts. Long time has passed by. He was in different ways, had so many difficulties, gave up, put himself in the road again. He expected that when he was 59 years old he wouldn't have any trouble at all regarding faith or relationship with God and could carry a single smile just like the one monks do. He was looking forward for a peaceful life as if he was in Paradise. But the search for this so dreamed life had a price. He decided to travel alone (advised by his wife) trying to find himself, a path of renewal and spiritual growth. To get closer to God he started his life all over again. Throw himself on a jorney, guided by signs, he visits three continents. Throughout the trip Paulo, slowly emergs from isolation, put his ego and his pride aside and opens his mind and heart for friendship, love, faith and forgiveness. With his own words:"The trip was not only to find the answer I was looking for my existential problems but mainly to become the king of my world again."
Its an intersting book, easy to ready, a good source of entertainment while make us reflect on our conduct in relation to God, Universe, family, friends and especially about ourselves.

Invictus
Hi fellows. Recently I've seen this interesting movies. I wd like to share the story with you all.
With the fall of apartheid in South Africa Nelson Mandela tries to unite his countrymen and bring peace by bringing the Rugby World Cup to his country. In the film, with the same name, Mandela is Morgan Freeman (fantastic) directed by Clint Eastwood who wanted to pay a tribute to Mandela. Its an inspiring true story where Mandela shares this poem, Invictus with us,after telling us it had been inspiring to him during his time in prison, helping him to stand when all he wanted to do was to lie down. I do recommend this film.
Because I found it very inspiring indeed I brought this brilliant poem written by W.E.Henley, to you too. Enjoy. Cleo

Some comments on the book by Irvin D. Yallom
Would you be interested in reading some precious philosophic book? Iam talking about "When Nietzche Wept" Irvin D. Yallom. Its a superb novel. As long as you are reading you are invited to follow a struggle between two minds. The story starts when Josef Breuer, a great physician in Vienne is asked to treat Friedrich Nietzsche for his suicidal despair following a broken love affair.
Brauer devises an ingenius approach that woul force Nietzsche to apply his own theories to cure himself. Its a fantastic duel between two giants. I do recommend. See you, Cleo.

If I can stop one heart from breaking
If I can stop one heart from breaking
I shall not live in vain;
If I can ease one life the aching
Or cool one pain
Or help one fainting robin
Unto his nest again
I shall not live in vain (Emily Dickinson 1830/86)

Iam back again................

Long time we don't see, we don't talk. I missed not being here so much!!!! I hv read lots of books, I hv indeed so many things I would like to comment and I am doing this during next days. See you soon.
Do you see this picture? It's the cover of my new project, a tiny and very simple book of memories, some facts that keep always in my mind since I was a child. Some are sad, some are full of joy, and some are funny. I intend to publish it as soon as possible. It's already finished but I want to give it another look before the final edition. Iam very anxious and excited about this mini project mainly because the written things mean a lot to me and because it's a good way of preservation and finally because I think it's almost a payment of a tribute to some people I hv mentioned on it. Some other texts are the result of work I hv done in class during the Preteaching Course at the University.
